I drew the template in Illustrator, and created 3 distinct levels: highlights, shadows and midtones. I am a graphic designer by profession and an artist on the side, so I am genetically and professionally predisposed to pumpkin carving. And, I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada, not Washington state. But the website was only allowing me to choose U.S. States. My husband is American and we are very interested in politics, especially in this election. He has mailed in his vote weeks ago. Cheers!
